What seems to be Varius' counter technique.
If your card is targeted while VS is present, you can negate it and aim for a large amount of burn damage.
The cards that can be protected are not limited to VS, but VS can escape even if it is targeted by an advanced exchange effect, and it can not do anything with a card that does not target, so what is the total removal that VS is not good at? I can't even reach the itchy place.
The effect is never weak and it has a strong property of Counter Trap that can be searched, but unfortunately the adoption rate is low in the current VS.

Target activation negate Destruction can be used, but it is limited and not almighty. Other spell traps are more useful, and it's not the first card you want to search for.
If you can activate it, Varius will do 3000 damage, and since it's not based on his original ATK, you can aim for a one-kill. There may be another chance to activate the target, but it's still less convenient than "God" Counter Trap.
