Comprehensive evaluation: The range is narrow and the return is small.
If it only responds to effects that destroy a single monster, and you only get 500 damage in return, it's better to use a Counter Trap with a looser trigger, such as Solemn Judgment.

It's a counter to removal, and it doesn't have many targets, but there are too many cards that don't respond to it, so it feels unreliable as a counter method. The burn given is also a bonus firepower.
There are a lot of better counter methods out there, and to give you an example, it's been said a lot, but even though it has no bonus effect and has a large LP cost, My Body as a Shield is better because it has a wider range and quick attack. It will be easy.
It's not a good idea to have a card that you want to stop removing, but more often than not you can't.

Normal Trap with pinpoint meta mystery burn. The compared 《My Body as a Shield》was piled 3 times in the main deck when 《Zoodiac Drident》was rampant. It goes without saying which one is winning. Even if this was 1000 burns, it was honestly painful, but if it was 2000 burns, it might have been used.

It is a reasonable effect because it corresponds to all the effects of Spell, Trap, and Effect Monster, but the range of only the destruction effect targeting one monster is a little narrow. It's hard to say that burn damage is that big of an attraction. 《My Body as a Shield》and 《Destruction Jammer》, which have a wider range of support, are easier to use.

That said, this kind of card has to be versatile, so the one-only condition hurts.

It is impossible to target cards that activate by specifying two or more bodies and his Spell Trap together.

However, if you just want to protect monsters, My Body as a Shield is easier to use, as it has a non-targeting effect and protects against multiple destructions, even though the difference in LP add is large. Even if you intend to protect one monster, Phantom Wings and 《Forbidden Dress》are highly versatile as they can overcome effects that don't target.
