Of course it's nice to be able to negate troublesome monster effects, spells and traps that activate during the battle phase, but there are far more things you want to stop during the main phase.

Battlin' Boxer Barrier or Battlin' Boxer 《Chivalry》. I can't get enough of the shark knight and the strong exaggeration that have a high adoption rate.
Battlin' Boxer Xyz's natural enemy, removal that doesn't involve destruction, mostly targets, so Xyz Reflect can cover most of it.
In addition, if you are limited to Effect Monsters, there is Xyz Block that works well with Lead Blow, and if you want to prevent abyss against Kiser and Kaiser, there is Holy Spear that also has the role of stabbing and killing Fergra. If this can be activated, summoning a monster with removal ability and activating its effect will probably work.
