The negate range isn't that bad, but it's not uncommon for Gagaga to stay on your opponent's turn. Even with Velor Meta, it tends to be one step behind Trap.
Gagaga X is also a connection or for finishers, so it's hard to make use of it.
I think notifications are more reliable, even with poor search and higher LP costs.
