Comprehensive evaluation: The significance to use especially cannot be found.
If you want to place a Venom counter with Venom Swamp to weaken and destroy it, you can use sweep or weaken from the beginning.
If you want to turn the Venom counters you've accumulated with Venom Burn into damage, you can use a card that you can actively put on.
There are other cards to prevent attacks, too.

If it's not enough to accumulate Venom counters, why not maintain swamp normally?
Considering the Venom's sophistication in the category, other defense cards are more versatile than using this one.

Venom is weak in combat if it doesn't have enough counters, so while countering it, it's ready to be nerfed, and I understand the design...
It's not stable because it's an attack reaction, and it's not worth it if it's just one Venom counter that gives you the benefit of being greatly inferior to Reconciliation and Roaring in terms of defensive performance.
Even if Venom is removed, it will be difficult to use it.
