The cost for Special Summon is as high as his EARTH 3, but instead it will revive as many times as possible unless it is banished or deck bounced.
The effect of (1) is the effect of protecting his ally's Rock from destruction other than battle. It also applies to yourself, so unless you're summoned negate, you're not afraid of torrent burials or abysses. Although it can be destroyed in battle, it also has a defense of 3000, so it won't be easily broken through. There is also a support called 《Catapult Zone》, and if you use 《Safe Zone》, it will be further delayed... not a wall.
The effect of (2) should be considered as a bonus since it is rare for this card to be sent from the field to GY. That said, even though there is a total level limit, being able to search up to 3 cards is powerful, and I think that Gem-Knight has relatively many opportunities for him to use Rock for fusion.
