However, only the opponent's turn gives resistance to the set card in his Spell / Trap zone, and for some reason his ATK increases when his Spell / Trap that he wants to give resistance to is destroyed. It's not a recent card power, and the two effects seem to contradict each other.
As for what this means, it seems that it is probably aiming for synergy with 《Lilith, Lady of Lament》. By using 《Ties of the Brethren》, it is possible to issue 《Lilith, Lady of Lament》from him, and vice versa. You can safely set a trap card while getting an advantage from the cost.
