It has the effect of negating the attack while returning your girlfriend's Altergeist to the hand when the opponent's monster that has been Special Summoned attacks, and the effect of self-regenerating when released.
The first effect seems to be strong at first glance because there are many cards in her Altergeist that go well with self-bounce, but the trigger is quite heavy with the attack of her opponent's Special Summoned monster. The opponent will be very aware of that, and since it's part of his deck that takes care of the environment, it's tough to kill without knowing it, and it's only going to be a substantial battle destruction resistance rather than aiming for a combo.
