Whether it's a design error or intentional, only this card itself and Spiral Serpent can respond to the seemingly powerful fishing effect. Of course Spiral Serpent doesn't have a level adjustment, so if you're aiming for Xyz, you'll have to Special Summon this card itself. Link can do it, but Normal Monster's 《Spiral Serpent》is unsuitable as a link material.
