First of all, it tends to take time to deploy this guy and direct attack personnel. On top of that, if the damage is halved, I feel that the performance is... for the time and effort.
Regarding the point of exposing the low RBI, it has become easier to handle with the advent of link summoning, and it is easier to use than before, such as being able to become Gorgonic.
If you're going to let the high RBI attack directly, as already said, seals are generally more useful.
