Well, when I first printed it, I guess I didn't think about making "Gaia the Fierce Knight" the theme.
Only 3 types of monsters are supported, and practically only "Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion" and "Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons" are supported instead of those 3 types. It's narrow, at least if the out-of-effect text of "Gaia the Magical Knight" is "treated as "Gaia The Fierce Knight"... it'll fuse right away, so maybe it doesn't matter?
It's a little difficult to apply the effect of this card, as long as it's an environment where you can suppress and interfere with face-up Effect Monsters. Most of them are in Attack Position, and some Link Monsters don't have Defense Position...
It has a large return and can improve the quantity and quality of your hand, and since it has excellent compatibility with 《Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion》, it is a card you want to use in [Gaia the Fierce Knight] so as not to miss the chance. It's an old card, so it's great that it doesn't have a turn 1 limit.

Due to the rule change, he's less likely to use Link Monsters, so he'll be able to use defense penetration.
