Synchro, Xyz, and Link basically perform her Special Summon twice and come out, so you can have two handicap cards, which is quite a nuisance. However, in the end, Special Summon is allowed, and since the opponent chooses, the handicap effect is not good enough, and if you are handless, the disadvantage disappears. If this was a trap, it could have been used in a way that reacted to the opponent's development. As already written, it is important that the controller is handicapped, not the side that Special Summoned. You can use Kaiju to get rid of the big ones and even get handicapped, which is pretty annoying.
