There is a trap card called Enervating Mist with a similar effect, but the difference between it and regret is
(1) Since it is a spell, it can be activated quickly.
②、The hand limit also extends to yourself (《Enervating Mist》is for your opponent only)
③、Hand limit is 3 cards (《Enervating Mist》is 5 cards)
These are the three points. At first glance, Mourning seems to be superior, but since there is time between activation and the opponent's end phase, it is easy to adjust the hand. Therefore, 《Enervating Mist》would be better if you use it for handicap purposes.
However, since recent Yu-Gi-Oh's speeds up search and draw, many of his decks say that the 3-card limit is surprisingly tight. Whether or not you can skillfully use this card without being broken by your opponent will be a showcase of your skill as a duelist.
