It's hard to use.
As long as it's connected, it won't be destroyed by battle effects, but if you think about leaving it, in most cases it will become a punching bag that can pass 500 attacks for at least 1 turn.
By the way, the fact that you can't chain to your opponent's monster effects is also a problem. Midrash or Buster Dragon have powerful permanent effects just by standing, but if you use them for anything else, they won't have much effect. There are many good scenes in the original Demon's Chain.
