Unlike Bear, which was treated as a loser, this one is certainly powerful if you look only at its effects. The goyo effect alone is enough.
However, the reason why it is unsuccessful is probably the weight of the material.
Three Frightfurs is heavy, even considering that there are substitute material cards.
Also, the all-important goyo effect is that his Frightfur can wipe out the field with a tiger, which is more effective than taking control.
Besides, this Goyo effect is weakened more than the anime. For a card this heavy, I think it's acceptable to make some enhancements...
As an aside, his Frightfur Fusion Monsters, including this card that appeared in the anime, are noticeably weakened in the OCG version compared to the OCG original Frightfur Fusion Monsters.
Rather than using that, there are many situations where it is more effective to use the OCG original.
