This card searches without showing the banished card to the opponent, but if removed, it can no longer be searched.
The opponent understands that point, so they will probably aim for this card. But that's where the real value of this card lies.
For example, in Metabi, let's say you have a card in your opponent's deck that has little or no effect on his deck. If you use this card in such a case, your opponent will assume that you have removed the key card. So the opponent tried to remove it so that it wouldn't be searched, but the banished card was just the opposite. Of course, the opponent doesn't know this, but he must be convinced that he was able to reduce one key card and gained an advantage. In the case of Cyclone, the opponent must have thought that he had done a 2:1 compatibility, but in reality it was agreed that he was brought in a 1:1 compatibility and pinpointed his deck compression. In the end, I killed two birds with one stone by compressing his deck and letting him use his removal cards.
As such, it's a very powerful card in his proper deck, a feat that Gold Sarcophagus can't do. Therefore, it is difficult to say unconditionally that this card is backward compatible. Of course, you can also search for your favorite card on a case-by-case basis.
