《Dark Blade》may have tried to imitate 《Gaia The Fierce Knight》, but it was a monster born as a result of fusion with 《Pitch-Dark Dragon》that unioned with itself.
However, perhaps because it appeared a little too early, it was set up with an effect that had no context of excluding the opponent's GY monster by inflicting battles damage, and there was no other effect.
It's the same with "Dark Blade the Captain of the Evil World", but if it were rubbed after the 11th term, it would be regrettable to think that it would have been a more useful monster.
Currently, Dark Swords and Fighting Dragons are exclusively used as cards that are referenced from the EX Deck in order to receive effects such as Fusion Deployment, and that alone makes them worthwhile cards.
