If the corresponding support is not much different from Gannet and you can't use it offensively, I think it's inferior in terms of status.
Then when it comes to materials, both Amethys and Marina have the performance of a restraining wall, and they also have a habit of being difficult to use offensively.
It has a valuable bounce, but I feel that it would be quicker to use Brilliant Diamond instead of forcefully adopting this guy.
I think it has a low priority among low-grade gem vanillas. I'm not sure if there is a place for him in other decks.
