It was able to hit out a huge amount of adverts, boasting enough power to compete with the Dragon Ruler that dominated the environment when it first appeared. (And after the ban, magic quickly disappeared from the environment, unlike Dragon Ruler.)
It also reassessed the value of lesser spellcasters with useful effects.
The card was banned in less than a year after its introduction, but due to the increase in meta cards such as Urara and the inflation of the environment, it felt slow at the end of the search, and the Spellbook itself could not keep up with the environment. It's finally back to the limit.
