Fish may be a minor species, but they are a race that has the ability to deploy to be reckoned with, such as coelacanths.
However, because of its deployment power, it is easy to get 1 kill, and it is easy to lay down the control board, and for the reasons mentioned above, it is not uncommon to not be able to catch up.
Many of the trump cards are EX monsters other than fish, so it's hard to say that fish EX, especially white fight, is strong and effective against destruction.
Since Fish has a lot of water, it often works effectively even with Diamond Dust, which can be dealt with on the opponent's turn, so I think it is very difficult to prioritize in the meta.

There's no guarantee that the Fish theme won't break down in the future, but these days, it's rare for it to become meta. Also, since it is mostly WATER, it is a minus that it will be metabolized by the trap card 《Diamond Dust》.
